about us
The SOLGEN Student Club was established with the primary objective of enhancing and promoting essential knowledge, skills, and experiences for students who are interested in, or preparing for, international study and cross-cultural living. The club serves as a platform to empower students by equipping them with a global mindset and the practical competencies necessary to thrive in academic and social settings abroad.
In addition, the club organizes academic-related activities that encourage students to develop their skills through self-directed, pressure-free learning outside the classroom. These initiatives aim to foster intellectual curiosity, creativity, and personal growth in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Through a variety of interactive activities, workshops, and exchange programs, the club aims to foster:
- Academic preparedness, including study strategies and research skills aligned with international standards
- English language proficiency, with a strong focus on communication for real-life situations and academic success
- Cross-cultural competence, by encouraging cultural exchange, understanding of global perspectives, and respectful engagement with diverse communities
- Personal development and life skills, such as adaptability, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership in multicultural environments
The club collaborates closely with the School of Languages and General Education and other international programs to provide hands-on learning opportunities, peer mentoring, and access to information about study abroad scholarships, application processes, and partner institutions.
In addition, the club actively engages students in planning and leading various out-of-classroom learning initiatives, including English-speaking events, cultural cafés, international forums, and overseas immersion experiences. These initiatives are designed to simulate real-world international encounters and help students transition smoothly into global academic and professional contexts.
By joining the SLGE, students become part of a supportive community that values curiosity, cultural diversity, and academic excellence. The club not only prepares its members for overseas study, but also shapes them into confident, well-rounded individuals ready to contribute meaningfully on a global stage.
